We are working towards the launch of the world’s first natural health product with the potential to significantly reduce the misery of gastrointestinal symptoms faced by individuals with coeliac disease.

Currently in development, this revolutionary product could change the lives of those suffering with this debilitating auto-immune condition by reducing the incidence and severity of symptoms, allowing for improved defence against accidental gluten ingestion, more freedom of dietary choice and overall, a much better quality of life.

How does it work?

In laboratory trials our ground-breaking product has been shown to block gluten before it can make contact with the lining of the small intestine where it can trigger the adverse reactions experienced by those with coeliac disease.

What is Coeliac Disease?

Coeliac disease is characterised by an abnormal immune reaction to gluten (composed of gliadin and glutenin proteins) found in wheat, and similar proteins found in barley and rye. A small proportion of individuals with coeliac disease may also have an auto-immune reaction to certain proteins  found in oats. The incidence of the disease is strongly associated with certain genes (known as HLA DQ 2 and HLA DQ 8) meaning that coeliac disease is often found to run in a family. It results in damage to the lining of the gut which is the key defining diagnostic trait of this condition. Consequently, people with coeliac disease frequently suffer abdominal pain and experience gut disruption (diarrhea, bloating, constipation and wind). They may have nutrient-uptake problems leading to conditions such as osteoporosis and a general failure to thrive. Because of their nature, the gastrointestinal symptoms of coeliac disease are often misdiagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Individuals with coeliac disease may also suffer from a range of associated conditions including: general muscular weakness, fatigue, brain fog and other auto-immune diseases such as diabetes, thyroiditis, dermatitis herpetiformis, as well as depression, anxiety or cancer. The only current treatment for coeliac disease is lifelong adherence to a strict gluten-free diet.
